It has been a busy time for the Western Australia business over the last few months preparing for the transition over to the National Dial Before You Dig service. As of 1 July 2007, all West Australian enquiries will be received and processed into the national system and then sent to the WA members to process the request. The WA manager, Kim Rushton, and members will remain as Dial Before You Dig WA.

The phone (1100) and fax (1300 652 077) numbers will remain the same. The web site (www.dialbeforeyoudig.com.au) will change slightly to enable users to access the interactive Digsafe OCS site.

Kim Rushton says "It was realised some time ago that the current system could only provide the necessary level of service needed by our customers and members for so long. The changes will introduce better technology such as email, the use of the web, increased accuracy and a faster response".

Due to these changes, processes currently enjoyed in WA, such as the collation of member’s information will cease. Also the agreement with Dial Before You Dig WA to only send a member’s map (under special agreement) will cease. Everyone will have a personal ID and receive ALL the information pages from every member, separately, every time. It’s all to do with Duty of Care.

For further details, please contact Kim Rushton on 0427 700 840.
