Alliance to minimise damage to Victoria's underground assets

The free referral service Dial Before You Dig and electrical and gas safety regulator Energy Safe Victoria have formed an alliance in a bid to reduce the millions of dollars worth of damage caused annually to Victoria's networks of underground assets.

Hundreds of thousands of kilometres of hidden underground pipes and cables carry essential services to households and businesses each and every day of the year. We don’t think about them very much, but the extent to which we rely on them is enormous.

WA Joins National System

It has been a busy time for the Western Australia business over the last few months preparing for the transition over to the National Dial Before You Dig service. As of 1 July 2007, all West Australian enquiries will be received and processed into the national system and then sent to the WA members to process the request. The WA manager, Kim Rushton, and members will remain as Dial Before You Dig WA.

Sydney Water Plans Ahead

On 20 June 2007, SydneyWater introduced a new system of providing plans in response to enquiries made to Dial BeforeYou Dig.

Change of Office for DBYD Queensland

From July the office of Dial Before You Dig will be located with the Institute of Public Works Engineering Qld at LGAQ House in Evelyn Street, Newstead.
